Bray Wyatt last competed on the February 26th WWE Live Event in Rockford, Illinois, where he defeated LA Knight in a Lights Out Street Fight. Wyatt appeared on WWE television for the final time on the February 27th Monday Night RAW in a pre-recorded segment.
The former world champion was supposed to have a match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39. However, Bray Wyatt was pulled from the show due to undisclosed health issues. As of now, Wyatt has been listed internally as a wrestler who dealing with a long-term illness.
Fightful Select reported that Bray Wyatt is close to being medically cleared. Fightful added that WWE is very careful about Wyatt’s health condition. A source told Fightful that a creative idea has been pitched to Wyatt for September.
“Fightful has learned that Bray Wyatt is finally getting “closer” to clearance after almost six months without it. Wyatt has battled an illness that we won’t disclose, and the company and Wyatt have been taking extra precautions to make sure that his long-term health is accounted for. Of late, we’ve confirmed that Wyatt isn’t actively cleared, but those we’ve spoken to claim that he’s getting closer, and that there have been some creative ideas presented. One source indicated that some ideas were even mentioned for September, however that won’t mean anything if he doesn’t get that clearance.”
Prior to Wyatt’s illness, WWE had a creative plan for him, Alexa Bliss, Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy), and Eric Young. Bliss is currently on maternity leave, and Young has left the company. Dallas has also been absent from WWE television since February.
In an update, Sean Ross of Fightful tweeted that Bray Wyatt is recovering from a career and life-threatening illness.
“After today’s update, it was explained to Fightful that the illness that Bray Wyatt is actively recovering from was both career and life threatening.
It’s great to hear that things are looking much better 🙏”
