AEW Star Appointed To Backstage Role After Career-Ending Injury

AEW Star Appointed To Backstage Role After Career-Ending Injury

Chuck Taylor last competed on the April 27th episode of AEW Rampage, where he lost to Trent Beretta in a Parking Lot Fight. Last week, Orange Cassidy announced that Taylor would never wrestle again.

The 38-year-old has been dealing with an injury prior to Parking Lot Fight. AEW announcer Excalibur stated that Taylor had suffered a severe ankle fracture that resulted in necrosis of the bone.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that Orange Cassidy’s announcement about Chuck Taylor was accurate.

“In storyline, they say it’s over but have also given wiggle room. From what we are told, what was said on television was accurate and the belief right now is that Taylor won’t be able to wrestle again.”

Fightful Select reported that Chuck Taylor has been training as a coach/producer for months.
