Adam Copeland made his AEW debut at WrestleDream, where he saved Sting and Darby Allin from the attack by Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Luchasaurus.
Copeland issued a post on X soon after making his All Elite Wrestling debut. Here’s an excerpt from the post. “I don’t buy into this odd mentality of one company or the other. It’s weird. If you took offense to that, take a walk, get some fresh air and soak up some sunshine.”
The Rated R Superstar received a huge backlash from fans after joining Tony Khan’s promotion. Some fans called him a traitor. In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Adam Copeland responded to those fans and stated that he departed WWE on good terms.
“You know, it’s interesting. Just in terms of, I guess, how people have like almost a brand allegiance or a team allegiance kind of thing. For me, like I knew there was gonna be some fan base in switching companies that [said], ‘Oh, he’s a traitor.’ But, man, nobody’s a traitor. We left on great terms.
…For me, I’m doing all I ever wanted to do, and I’m getting a chance to do it again after I was told I would never do it again. I get to do it with my best friend. I get to look at a whole new roster of opponents. That to me is exciting, and to be able to get as excited as I am at 50 years old, why wouldn’t I do that?”
This past Saturday, Adam Copeland, Sting, and Darby Allin defeated The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Luchasaurus) in a Trios match at Full Gear.
