Several AEW Wrestlers Sent Home From Collision

By The Spotlight StaffAugust 14, 2023
Several AEW Wrestlers Sent Home From Collision

This past Saturday, CM Punk and FTR were unable to defeat The House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championships. Punk addressed the fans at the Greensboro Coliseum after the show went off the air. The Real World Champion noticed several pro-Adam Page signs and took shots at Page.

Dave Meltzer stated that Adam Page arrived at the Greensboro Coliseum to tape a segment that will air on this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. However, upon Page’s arrival, he was told not to go to the show. The segment was then recorded outside of the arena.

Fightful Select reported another story that related to this past Saturday’s AEW Collision. They stated that Ryan Nemeth was booked for the show. However, Nemeth has sent home after he arrived at the arena.

“Ryan Nemeth was brought into town for the Collision tapings. Shortly after arriving he was told by a coach that he wouldn’t be needed, and a flight had been booked for him to return home.”

Nemeth is a part of the “Being The Elite”. He took a shot at Punk on X (Twitter) after Punk’s June 17th episode of the AEW Collision promo. Nemeth tweeted that “Literally the softest man alive.”

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Matt Hardy was also sent home after he was booked for an episode of AEW Collision. Meltzer added that Christopher Daniels who is the Head of Talent Relations has been banned from Saturday’s show.

“This is not the only time this has happened. This has actually been happening, it’s happened to several other people… Matt Hardy was booked on a Saturday, went there, and was then told not to go to the building after he got there. That was not last night, but Matt Hardy was one of them… Christopher Daniels, who had been working with Matt Sydal as a tag team in Ring of Honor, for whatever reason, same thing happened with him, that he’s not supposed to go on Saturday. And he’s frickin’ Head of Talent Relations…

And there may be others, but those are the ones that I know of that that’s been happening to. There’s a lot of other things too, but that’s the stuff that’s pretty much out right now I guess.”

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
