AEW Breaks Two Major WWE Records With All In Event

AEW Breaks Two Major WWE Records With All In Event

AEW All In pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 27th at the Wembley Stadium in London, England. Over 10,000 fans attended the inaugural All In, which was the largest independent wrestling show of all time.

As of now, AEW has announced four matches for the show.

  • AEW World Championship: MJF vs. Adam Cole
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR vs. Young Bucks
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida vs. Toni Storm vs. TBD vs. TBD
  • Tag Team Match: Darby Allin & Sting vs. Swerve Strickland & AR Fox

According to WrestleTix, 79,346 tickets have been sold for All In and 4,702 tickets remain. WWE announced in the past that 93,000 fans have attended WrestleMania 3 (WWE’s second biggest show). However, Dave Meltzer said that the numbers were inflated by the company. According to Meltzer, the actual attendance figure was around 78,000. The show was headlined by the match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant.

The biggest United Kingdom wrestling event was SummerSlam in 1992. The show was headlined by the Intercontinental Championship match between Bret Hart and British Bulldog.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that 79,127 fans attended SummerSlam in 1992. Therefore, All In has now surpassed the SummerSlam record.

“So the Wembley Show today passed last year’s Wembley Show [SummerSlam] for attendance. So now it is officially in third place all time. And we’ll be in first place. Last year’s Wembley show [SummerSlam], they (AEW) passed 79,127 today. So they are behind only Lando and Corani and the WrestleMania AT&T Stadium.”

The biggest wrestling show was held by WCW & NJPW in North Korea. The two-day event is called “Collision in Korea.” 150,000 plus people attended the show each night. The government forced them to attend the event.
