CM Punk Reportedly Pitched To Be In AEW Blood & Guts Match

The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club are feuding for a long time. Last May, BCC picked up the victory over The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. Last month, The Elite, Eddie Kingston & Tomohiro Ishii defeated BCC, Konosuke Takeshita, and Shota Umino in a Ten-Man Tag Team match at Forbidden Door.

The two factions are once again set to face each other in Blood and Guts on the July 19th episode of AEW Dynamite. The show is scheduled to take place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. However, both Elite and BCC need a partner to compete in the match.

Fightful Select confirmed that CM Punk wanted to be the fifth member of the BCC in the Blood and Guts match. Jon Moxley wasn’t against the idea. However, the members of both teams were already decided.

“Fightful Select sources confirmed Voices Of Wrestling’s report that Punk pitched himself as the 5th member of the Blackpool Combat Club’s team. Whether seriously or not, or whether he actually expected the offer to be accepted isn’t known…

“Neither team would want him” one source said. When we asked about issues with BCC’s Jon Moxley, we were told that Moxley wasn’t opposed to the idea. However, as of two weeks before the show, the partners were already determined.”
