Last year, WWE paired Baron Corbin with JBL and the company expected Corbin to connect with the fans. JBL reintroduced Corbin on the October 17th episode of Monday Night RAW as the Modern Day Wrestling God.

However, Baron Corbin was unable to get the heat that heels should get on WWE television instead he received go away heat. Therefore, Triple H’s regime made him lose in matches since the November 21st episode of Monday Night RAW.

This past Monday on RAW, Baron Corbin was unable to pick up the victory against Dexter Lumis. JBL confronted Corbin backstage and said that Corbin is a channel changer. The WWE Hall of Famer ended the partnership with the modern-day wrestling god.

On Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer stated that Paul “Triple H” Levesque who is the head of creative has ended Corbin’s push. Meltzer further noted that Triple H realized that Corbin’s new gimmick isn’t working.

“They gave up on it, Obviously, this wasn’t the plan. The guy in charge, that’s Paul (Levesque), felt it wasn’t working and that was it. Where they go with Corbin, I don’t know. It felt very much like a burial for Corbin…He’s had so many gimmick changes. There’s nothing wrong or right with him but in the pantheon of stars, he’s just not at that top star level. I think they wanted him to be at that level and they gave him every chance to be at that level. He’s just a guy. A tall guy but he’s just a guy.”
