WWE Money in the Bank premium live event is scheduled to take place on July 2nd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. However, WWE has changed it to a much smaller arena. It will now be scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

WWE had planned to do Money in the Bank event as big as Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series, but the plan was scrapped due to poor ticket sales. According to WrestleTix, WWE has sold only 16,833 tickets as of May 1st. The Allegiant stadium can fit more than 65,000 people. Now you can realize how many fans are interested in one of the unique premium live events.

There are two reasons for poor ticket sales. Fans already know what will happen to the Money in the Bank winner when Roman Reigns holds both WWE and Universal Championship. The other reason is UFC 276. It is also scheduled to take place on July 2nd in Las Vegas, and this is the closes reason for the lack of ticket sales.

WWE announced that fans who bought tickets for the Allegiant Stadium show will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets for the MGM Grand Garden show before anyone else. They also noted that all the tickets originally purchased via Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically.

WrestleTix has reported how many tickets WWE distributed so far for Money in the Bank premium live event at MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 2nd.

“My final estimate for the setup was 24,867, which means they had roughly 17,924 tickets distributed. MGM Grand Garden Arena will likely have a setup of around 12,000. Presale is next Wednesday at 10AM PST.“

WWE is always saying that “Card is subject to change.” Now it will also apply to Money in the Bank on July 2nd. Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are now removed from the original Money in the Bank poster. They are now replaced by Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Riddle, Rhea Ripley, The Miz and The Street Profits.

Charlotte Flair and Andrade are getting married this summer. Brock Lesnar has been absent since WrestleMania 38. But Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey were not included in the official poster was surprising.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer previously reported that Roman Reigns is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Riddle at Money in the Bank. Seems like plans are changed at this time.

Former UFC star and current AEW wrestler CM Punk took his chance to mock WWE once again after hearing the news of Money in the Bank venue changed. Punk posted the following Instagram story.

Those who don’t have any idea about it, let me explain it to you. In 1991, WrestleMania 7 venue was changed due to poor ticket sales. But WWE claimed that the change was made due to a bomb threat.

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
