Today, The New York Post reported that Pat McAfee signed a new deal with ESPN and he is working as a full-time member of the “College GameDay” broadcast. McAfee is scheduled to appear for this Saturday’s Alabama vs. Texas game in Austin, Texas.

Many fans praised Pat McAfee’s work as a SmackDown color commentator, but the new deal affects his WWE career. The former NFL punter has decided to take a time off from WWE.

WWE’s head of talent relations Triple H announced that Pat McAfee reached out to him and explained the opportunity that he received. Triple H said that he will never block McAfee’s path to success and approved to work with ESPN from Saturday onward.

Pat McAfee approached us about his amazing opportunity with College GameDay. We’d never stand in Pat’s way, as he continues to architect his exceptional career.

Pat will remain a member of the WWE Universe and we look forward to his return.
